The CCB season opening concert 2008/2009 consecrates a unique initiative in the national musical scene: a Symphonic Orchestra of 130 musicians, constituted by the best young Portuguese musicians and also by their Spanish and French colleagues. Throughout ten days, they develop a remarkable artistic work, as it was demonstrated in the 1st edition of this Sinfónica Académica Metropolitana Orchestra’s National Training, carried out in 2006, ending this year in an excellent way!
Once again under Michael Zilm’s direction, this time is featured an exceptional programme, with works by Beethoven, Mahler and Bernstein, counting also with the participation of one of the most important pianists of our time: the Polish Krystian Zimerman, who will perform the concert Lutoslawski dedicated to him.
