At the age of 17, in Leipzig, Robert Schumann met the woman who would become his wife and inspiring muse throughout his life. When she was eight years old, Clara Wieck, a blonde girl with fair eyes, played like an Angel. In this recital, we are led to fancy and dream the life and love of these two pianists and composers through their music. The two sonatas for violin and piano were composed by Robert Schumann in 1851, five years before his death, and represented to the composer a small light in the middle of a tunnel haunted by madness. Both were premiered by Clara Schumann. The Three Romances for violin and piano by Clara Schumann were written in 1955, one year before her husband’s death.
