In the 2011/2012 Season, CCB invited the consort Sete Lágrimas to be the Associate Ensemble. This invitation is justified by the recognized quality and originality of the group's projects, but also by the effort they have shown in associate the Portuguese and European rich musical tradition and culture to a contemporary aesthetic. This is very appropriate to current times and current public, never forgetting the creators of today - those who, through their art, somehow symbolize what we are today. With the collaboration of several prestigious guest musicians, Sete Lágrimas will present the Tríptico da Terra – Triptych of Earth: three distinct but interrelated projects that are very well representative of the work they have been developing over the years.
Terra - Earth
Diaspora, vol. 2
First concert of Tríptico da Terra
Risking new interpretive formulas of popular and erudite repertoires from the sixteenth century to the twentieth century, from the Iberian vilancico to bossa nova, this concert will explore - in a unique combination of old and traditional instruments (and speeches) - the dynamics of musical interaction between Portugal and the world of five continents. The ensemble has Mayra Andrade and António Zambujo as guests, two artists who have been the target of numerous awards and whose choice of performing, though quite distinct, allow discerning similarities and common interests - closely related to the theme of this concert.
