Steve Reich, born in New York in 1936, is one of the greatest composers of the present time and one of the most influential of the past 30 years. A major name of the classical music, he is above all recognized as a reference in the minimalist trend, although he has also been acclaimed and influenced other musical fields. In 2009, he was awarded with the music Pulitzer Prize for his work Double Sextet. Steve Reich stages with the ensemble Bang on a Can All-Stars, described by the New York Times, as "an aggressive group, combining the power and the strength of a rock band with the precision and the simplicity of a chamber ensemble”.
