This concert presents three of Schumann’s most beautiful works, including Manfred overture – an adaptation of Lord Byron’s tragic poem – and the original version of Symphony No. 4 (1841). Composed by tonal pathways clearly melancholic and representative of the composer’s work (E minor, D minor and A minor), this is a fascinating programme, where Schumann’s sensitive and poetical writing intertwines with the OCP’s vital and brimful energy.
