In this 3rd edition the LJSS has the privilege of having the jazz superstar DANILO PEREZ as pedagogical director and teacher of its Jazz Summer Course. Grammy award winner DANILO PEREZ is among the most influential and dynamic musicians of our time. Accompanying DANILO PEREZ is a group of renowned musicians: BEN STREET (bass), ADAM CRUZ (drums), RUDRESH MAHANTHAPPA (saxophone) and ROGÉRIO BOCCATO(percussion).

The Jam Sessions from Monday to Friday at Cafetaria Quadrante will be the ideal complement to classes. Here the participants will have the opportunity to play with each other and with the LJSS teachers/musicians. The Jam Sessions have free entrance and are open to the general public.
The last day will be of great emotions for the LJSS participants for they will be the performers at the Closing Concerts in the Small Auditorium of the CCB.

PRE-INSCRIPTIONS and ENROLLMENT
The participation in the LJSS is subject to a pre-inscription and an enrollment. The pre-inscription and enrollment processes are similar in the LJSS Jazz Summer Course and in the LJSS Férias com Jazz, and will occur in the same deadlines, as described below.
The pre-inscriptions will be open from March 1 to May 14
It is assumed that, when delivering the pre-inscription, the candidate has total knowledge of the LJSS Regulation and accepts it entirely.
In order to complete his pre-inscription, a candidate must deliver to the LJSS Commissariat the following:
• pre-inscription form fully filled-in;
• copy of the identity card (both sides) or passport of the candidate and a copy of the identity card (both sides) or passport of the candidate’s responsible if he/she is a minor;
• motivation letter (under 150 words);
• musical curriculum (under 300 words);
• commercial record or demo of a musical performance of the candidate.

Email to the email address ljss.participants@gmail.com (identity card or passport in .jpg format, and audio in MP3 format, or video in MP4 format). The email should be kept to a maximum of 10Mb in size.
The pre-inscription form can be obtained at the CCB’s main reception and ticket office, downloaded at www.ccb.pt or asked to be sent by email.
The selection of the participants will be based on the following documents and criteria: pre-inscription form; motivation letter (under 150 words); musical curriculum (under 300 words); commercial record or demo of a musical performance of the candidate; instrument the candidate enrolls in; instrument level; musical knowledge level; fluency in English (only for the Jazz Summer Course candidates). If the LJSS Commissariat considers these elements insufficient to evaluate the candidate, he/she can be asked to audition in a date and place to be determined.
The LJSS Commissariat will contact all the candidates by email and/or by phone informing them whether they have or have not been selected to this year’s edition of the LJSS. If the candidate has been selected, he/she will be instructed by the LJSS Commissariat to proceed with his/her enrolment.
The selected candidates can enroll between May 24 and June 25.
The enrollment in both LJSS courses is made through the payment of the totality of the fee, and is only considered complete when the candidate receives a written confirmation of that payment from the LJSS Commissariat.

Jazz Summer Course: 400,00€ (VAT included)
Férias com Jazz: 250,00€ (VAT included)
These values include the participant’s lunch, at the CCB facilities, from July 17 to 24.
These fees do not include trips, transportation, housing and any other meals.
DISCOUNTS
> CCB Membership discounts (all modalities): 15 % of the total fee
> Discounts for brothers with the CCB Membership (Family modality): 20%
> Discounts for brothers: 15% of the total fee
Discounts are not cumulative.
Payment may be phased out (50% of the total fee paid until June 4, and the other 50% paid until June 25).
