Theatre, performing and music. Three elements are associated to three identities: António Pires and his team, Drumming - Percussion Ensemble feat. Susana Teixeira and Diogo Oliveira. Hence, three different sound universes created by three contemporary composers: Georges Aperghis, Edmund Campion and David del Puerto.

Three concentrate universes exploding in several directions. The expectant chemistry of the elements' junction which is, as usual, the nameless secret of these collective arts. The reality of the creative material in confrontation with the misteries of the outcome and a possible perception of the artistic revelation. To create is a secret nobody knows. The creative process tries to unleash it. Music hovers, the rest is silence.
PROGRAMME
DAVID DEL PUERTO
Sol de Inverno (Winter's Sun)
This dramatic work, commissioned by Drumming - Percussion Ensemble, was conceived as a one-act piece, with a duration of nearly 30 minutes, for two characters and six percussionists using two vibraphones, two marimbas and two sets of steel drums.
GEORGE APERGHIS
Les Guetteurs de Sons
A musical theatre piece written in 1981 for three percussionists-performers, where word and gesture lead to a extraordinary suggestive music.
EDMUND CAMPION
AdKOM - A different kind of measure
AdKOM consists in a suite composed by seven tempo studies. Four musicians, each one assisted by an auricular electronic "conductor", play simple musical pieces that make little sense when played individually. With the electronic conductor's help, the individual lines grow, separate, connect, diverge and return as if it was magic.
