In this concert, some of Thomas Bernhard’s favourite works will be performed, including the Haffner Symphony, by Mozart.
Creating music is an activity without definite outlines. The stylistic diversity of the works gathered in this programme enhances the former statement. From the dramatic splendour of the overture to The Magic Flute to the ceremonious tone of the Haffner Symphony, Mendelssohn’s romantic expressiveness, Friedrich Cerha’s Viennese modernism and the most recent work by António Pinho Vargas will also take place. All along his career, this Portuguese composer already crossed paths as different as jazz and opera. Now, he responds once again to a different challenge, this time invited by Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra.
