Pedro Jóia invites the Orquestra de Câmara Meridional (Meridional Chamber Orchestra) to follow him in a journey on his origins as a musician and a composer.
In the first part of the performance, Pedro Jóia, except for one original, features themes from the two most important composers and instrumentalists of the Lisbon and Coimbra’s guitars: Carlos Paredes and Armandinho, respectively. This last one, furthermore, inspired his fifth work, À Espera de Armandinho, released in 2007. In this CD, Pedro Jóia performs classic guitar transcriptions of works originally composed for Portuguese guitar by Armandinho. In the second part of the performance, accompanied by the Orquestra de Câmara Meridional (Meridional Chamber Orchestra), Pedro Jóia plays a theme by Carlos Parede, another one by Paco de Lucía, one of his favourite guitarists, and also original themes composed by himself.
