SMALL AUDITORIUM - EDUARDO PRADO COELHO ROOM
PIERRE-YVES ARTAUD | ANA TELLES
ENCONTRO(S) - MEETING(S)
Encontro(s) - Meeting(s) operates a network of creative relationships established around the multifaceted silhouette of the conductor, composer and pedagogue Jean-Sebastien Béreau: his meeting as a young high school teacher with a student of 12 years of age - Pierre-Yves Artaud - crucial for the latter as a world-renowned flutist; the meeting as a conductor in full maturity with the exceptional pianist Ana Telles around the music of Olivier Messiaen; the meeting between the orchestra teacher and the renowned Japanese composer Yoshihisa Taïra; and the meeting with a host of other composers, such as Frenchman Bertrand Dubedout and the Portuguese João Pedro Oliveira and João Madureira. The programme also includes works by three of the most important creators of French music in the 20th century, whose tradition of interpretation by Béreau is an essential reference: Claude Debussy, Olivier Messiaen and Darius Milhaud.
