WORLD POETRY DAY
CCB CELEBRATES PORTUGUESE POETRY
For the second year in a row, the CCB will host poetry and poets on the celebration of the World Poetry Day.
21 Mar 2009
After the huge success of the first edition in 2008, which brought to the CCB more than two thousand people, the World Poetry Day 2009 programme - supported once more by the Plano Nacional de Leitura (Reading National Plan) - broadens the geographic horizons of the portuguese poetry: authors from Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde and Mozambique will gather their voices with their portuguese comrades, celebrating the idiom spoken and written by all of them.
Poets reading their own poetry and reading others poetry, spontaneous performances, workshops conceived for children and relatives, concerts exploring the relation between poetry and music, film documentaries showing the face and the voice of deceased poets, a book fair exclusively dedicated to portuguese speaking poets, a reading marathon and more, much more.
