Which world exists in the middle of Bosphorus? On one side we have Europe; on the other side we have Asia. A millenarian tension crossing the works by the novelist Orhan Pamuk and the poet Nâzim Hikmet, two major names of the 21st-century Turkish literature. In this reader’s community, we will navigate between East and West.

Alexandra Lucas Coelho was born in December 1967, in Lisbon. For the newspaper Público, she edited the sections "Leituras" and "Mil Folhas", co-edited "Cultura" and currently she integrates the team Grandes Repórteres. Since 2001, she has travelled regularly through the Middle East and Central Asia. She published the books Oriente Próximo (2007), a set of journalistic narratives between Israelis and Palestinians, and Caderno Afegão (2009), a travel journal in Afghanistan.
