Some contemporary jazz and avant-garde experiences draw near parameters such as improvisation gestures, harmonic openings or the quest for freedom. In both fields, composers and creators have sought for bridges and similarities. This concert proposes precisely to question this possibility: confrontation or interpenetration? Is it worth overcoming these borders? The special guest of this concert, Mário Laginha, will help us to find the answers to these questions, presenting a new work, commissioned by OU. OrchestrUtopica Big Band is an experience to link two strong and intense musical languages.
