First film of the awarded director of “Ironeaters”, “Sand and Water” is a poetical look on a social reality of his native country. Crossed by over 200 rivers and with a population with more than 100 million inhabitants, Bangladesh is threatened by constant floods, besides its financial difficulties. This film reveals the dignity and the wisdom of the peasant families, who live, from time to time, in conditions of extreme poverty in the margins of the river Brahmaputra.
