Influenced by a model established by the hard bop, soon after carried on by free, the Sonic Motion claim conceptual freedom to manipulate the melodic and structural contents of the themes and even to attain the exchange of the conventional roles of the instruments, both in original compositions or jazz standards. These last ones are not considered in a passive way, but as “source of inspiration for new ways to approach, to express and to investigate this music”.
