Unique drummer, Tony Allen is perhaps the most highly-regarded name of the afro-beat, a music style which is connected since its genesis to the legendary Fela Kuti.
Two decades after leaving Fela Kuti’s band, Tony Allen is still an incessant and powerful creator, a true energy on new African musical adventures. In stage, his small stature contrasts with the powerful and transcendent force he spreads behind of his drums.
At present, he’s one of the members of the project The Good, The Bad and The Queen, also featuring Damon Albarn (Blur), Paul Simonon (The Clash) and Simon Tong (The Verve and Blur).
