ECM Lisbon Series

The 2011/2012 season marks the beginning of the association between CCB and the prestigious german label ECM - home recordings of many of the most important and innovative musicians of today founded by manfred eicher in 1969. It features ECM Lisbon Series , a jointly programmed cycle running through the whole CCB season bringing to Lisbon five outstanding musical projects in the areas of contemporary jazz, improvised music and world music – similarly to what already happens in other european cities. CCB'S small and main auditorium will show very well known names to the portuguese public as well as others yet to discover, but all representatives of the recognized ECM quality and the aesthetic paths explored by the munich-based publisher. The options are varied and, hopefully, revealing to the public: from the youth and irreverence of pianist Colin Vallon’s trio to the swiss recognized lyrical trumpet of enrico rava, going through the raw sounds of the ensemble of voices a filetta from corsica and to the hot rhythms of amina alaoui’s music, not forgetting the yawning sound universe that françois coutureir created in honour of Andrei Tarkovsky.
