The fresh breeze of January brings us novelties which will blow during the next months, filling a new musical creation and performance space conceived for children. It is this challenge to composers and musicians from diverse areas (jazz, experimental music, music for theatre and opera …) that gives rise - already this quarter in the Fábrica das Artes’s programming – to two new creations crisscrossing music with different arts: Banjazz – a strange small animal… with the eyes wide open and a dazed gaze … is a performance that reflects the freedom of jazz, intertwining the imaginary of original songs with the universe of theatre; and A Piggyback ride on the wind, a music, theatre and puppets performance, a praise to nature and its beauty, unleashing our senses with the sounds intoned by the musicians and the voices of the children's choir of the Instituto Gregoriano.

In March, the choreographer Rui Horta and his company will be once again in residence at the CCB, with his last creation The Tears of Saladin. We propose a meeting between artists and adolescents, which will be held in two different occasions: an open rehearsal followed by a chat; and a workshop with two of his dancers. Crossing the Bridges to Istanbul Cycle, we will visit the giant Turkish city, looking to ARA Güler’s photos and plunging into Pamuk’s literary universe. From the stories told by the actress Carla Galvão in the workshop The Suitcase of Pamuk’s Father, other stories will emerge, created by the children here to offer to children there.
