2009/2010 SEASON
A clear bet in Portuguese creators in the fields of Dance and Theatre distinguish the CCB 2009/2010 season. The Season Associated Artists will be the choreographer Rui Horta and the Teatro Praga Company. Three creations of small, medium and large dimension will be commissioned to both of them: at the Main Auditorium, Rui Horta will feature As Lágrimas de Saladino, while the Teatro Praga will stage a new version of Midsummer Night's Dream, this time accompanied by the performing of The Fairy Queen wrote by Henry Purcell for the Shakespeare’s text by the end of the 17th century.
Furthermore, the CCB will present works by Lia Rodrigues, Leonor Keil and Amélia Bentes, Olga Roriz’s choreography of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring (with the participation of the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra) and three international major productions: Orpheus & Eurydice by Marie Chouinard’s company, Sutra, a Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s choreography with the participation of the monks from the original Shaolin Temple and Uprising/In your rooms, a production by the remarkable Israeli-born choreographer Hofesh Shechter, which launched him to the forefront of the new international dance scene. The project BoxNova will carry on, disclosing rising talents and new paths regarding the field of Dance.
